. o lill Gil? cushion and when not heeded are inserted.
In Figs. 5 to 7 inclusive, the cushion is adapted to magnetically hold pins, needles, and the like. It consists of a container 8O for attachment upon the Wrist strap 10 and opened at the top 3l. A sott pad closing member 32 preferably of rubber, sponge or the like closes'the top of the container and rests upon an internal ridge 33 secured Vyvithin the container completely around its inner side. This pad member 32 is coveredA with covering sheet 32 ot' velvet or the liketo improve the appearance of the pad; .A magnetizable screen 34 is engaged Within the container beneath the internal ridge 33 and is restrained against outward motion by its edges engaging against the ridge. Expansion springs 35 normally urge the screen 34 into engagement with the ridge. A permanent magnet 36 is attached Within the container and serves to maintain the magnetism of the screen.
llie screen 34 is preferably formed of iron wire mesh. The springs 35 are attached on one of their ends 37 and are free at their other ends sol as to urge the screen upwards. rl'he magnet 36 is a permanent bar magnet ot' conventional design and has a'north pole 33 and a south pole 39. A means is lprovided for adjusting theposition of the magnet so Ythat pins engaged thru the pad covering 32 and the pad 32 may not Wear out a certain portion of the pad, that is, assume the magnet at the center, pins must be so placed in the pad as to avoid the magnet.
Later on, the magnet may be moved and the avoided area used for the reception of pins.
The means for adjusting the position of the magnet `consists of a screw 40 rotatively mounted across the container 30 and threadedly engaged With the magnet 36. One end ll of this screw7 is formed With a head reachable from the outside of the container as illustrated in Fig. 8 so that it may be manually rotated for feeding the magnet one Way or the other Way. Pins engaged in the pad 36 Willbe restrained from falling out in that their inner ends engage thru the `Amesh of the screen 34E andare then magnetically held. Even though the Vwearer of the Wrist band exposes the pad to rough handling, the magnetic screen Will prevent the falling out of the pins.
It is to be understood that my tailoring set is not limited to needles, pins, thimbles and scissors, but any other suitable implement may be retained in the magnetized clip which may be of suitable shape to hold the said implements. l
It'is also to be understood that the strap 10 may be of any desired size and material for keepingy my tailoring implement-set on ones Wrist, Waist or Wherever convenient.
.lVhile I have shown and described the preferred embodiment `of my invention, it is to be understood that I d`o` not' limit' myself'to the precise construction: herein disclosed and the right is reserved to all' changes and modlications coming Within the scope of the in- `for supporting a thimble, said clip bracket for the thimble consisting of a base with several vertical lingers having out-turned top ends forming one polarity of the magnetized clip and one vertical inger with an inturned top end forming the other polarity of the said magnetized clip, said last finger capable of extending over the top edge of the thimble for holding it in place. i
2. Ina tailo-ring implement-set, a pin cushion, comprising a container for attachment on a Wrist strap ot the set and opened at the top, a soft pad and pad cover closing the top ofthe container,an internal ridge around the interior of the container beneath said pad, a screen engageable 'against the bottom of said Iridge, expansion springs' normally urging the screen against the ridge, and a permanent magnet 'Within the container for magnetizing said screen.
3. In a tailoring implement-set, a pin vcushion, comprising a. container for attachment on a Wrist stra of the set and opened at the top, a soft pad and pad cover closing the top of the container, an internal ridge around the interior of the container beneath said pad. a screen engageable against the bottom of said ridge, expansion springs normally urging the screen against thel ridge, a permanent magnet Within the container for magneti'zing said screen, and means for adjusting the position'of the magnet.V 4. In a tailoring implement-'seda pin cushion, comprising a container for attachment on a Wrist strap of the setand opened at the top, a soft pad andfpad cover closing the top of the `Acontainer, an internal ridge around the interior of the container beneath said pad, a screen engageable against the bottom of said ridge, expansion springs normally urging the screen against the ridge, a permanent magnetwithin the container for magnetizingsaid screen, and means for adjusting the position of the magnet, comprising a screw rotatively mounted 'across the container and threadedly engaging withl the magnet` and means for manually rotating 'the screwv for feeding the magnet one Way or the other. 5. Ina tailoring implement-set, a lpin cushion, comprising a container forattachment on'a Wrist strapof the set and opened at the top, a soft pad' and pad coverV closing the top of container, anV internal ,ridge around the interior of the container beneath said pad,
a screen engageable against the bottom of said ridge, expansionsprings normally'urging the screen against the ridge, a permanent magnet Within the container for magnetizing said screen, and means for adjusting the position of the magnet, comprising a `screw ro-j tatively mounted across the container and threadedly engaging with the magnet, and means for manually rotating the screw for eedingthe magnet one Way orthe other,
comprising a head formed at one end of the said screw and accessible from the voutside of the container.
In testimony whereof I have signature.
