IMPROVEMENT IN FLOUR-BOLTS. V
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 182,142, dated September 12,1876; application filed July 11, 1876.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM H. WooL- ARD, of Windsor, in the county of Shelby and State of Illinois, have invented a new and Improved Dustless Reel Head for Flour- Bolts, of which the following is a specification:

My invention consists in providing a stationary auxiliary head, carrying a packing of sheeps pelthaving the woolon, which is forced against the rotating head of the bolt-reel by means of springs, and retained in place by leather straps, the'object being to prevent the accumulation of dust on the bolt-head, and to prevent the escape of specks and flour-dust from the bolt, and also to do away with the device used in flour-bolt chests commonly known as speck-boxes.
A is an ordinary flour-bolt reel, having the head B, which is open in the center to receive the flour-spout O. E is the auxiliary head,
which is fitted over the spout O, and carries claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent 1. In combination with a flour-bolt, an auxiliary head, provided with a packing of wool or other similar material,and retained in place by suitable springs, substantially as shown and described.
