, which is very simple, and which can be easily and readily inserted in openings under the rim inside of the bowl, in such manner as to be easily removed when active materials are exhausted; second, to provide an article, the
principal portion of which, consists of a suitable cleaner, deodorant and disinfectant, in solid form, which itself does not require attention or cleaning.
Other objects and advantages of t 1e invention will be apparent during the course of the following description.
One form of the invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification, and in which, like nu-- merals are employed to designate like parts t iroughout the same, in which Figure 1 is a vertical section through a toilet bowl, showing our invention in place therein; Figure 2, is a detail section on line 2-2 of Figure 4; and Figure 3, is a side view of one form of the device embodying the invention; Figure t is a vertical section on line 1-4 of Figure 1; Figure 5 is an end view of one form of the device embodying the invention.
Referring to the drawings, numeral 6, designates a toilet bowl having a conduit 7, in the rim 8, and openings 9, through which water flows into bowl 6, with each flushing action.
Our improved cleaning device consists of a wire 10, upon the ends of which a suitable material 11, is molded.
The portion of wire 10, upon which the material 11 is molded, may be crimped parallel, as shown in Figures 3 and 4c, or it may be crimped perpendicularly as shown in Figure 5, to the portion 12, which is so shaped as to be inserted in opening 9. The portion 12, of the wire 10, which is to be inserted into desired opening 9, is curved, or bent in two planes at right angles to each other.
In the use of the device, portion 12, is inserted in an opening 9. Then active material 11, has all dissolved, or evaporated, and disappeared, the wire 10, which represents Serial No. 474,700.
only asmall fraction of the total cost of the device, is discarded, and a complete new device inserted in its place.

1. A cleaning device for toilet bowls, con sisting of a single wire having solid cleaning, disinfecting, and deodorizing material disposed cylindrically along its horizontally extended end portions, and having its central port-ion bent upward to form asingle central support, substantially as described.
2. A cleaning device for toilet bowls consisting of two solid cylindrical bodies, said bodies being formed of cleaning, disinfecting and deodorizing materials, and a single supporting means extending into both of said bodies whereby said bodies are supported in a toilet bowl.
3. A cleaning device for toilet bowls consisting of two solid cylindrical bodies, said bodies being formed of cleaning, disinfecting and deodorizing materials, a single supporting wire, said wire extending into both of said bodies whereby said bodies are supported in the toilet bowl.
4:. A cleaning device for toilet bowls consisting of two solid cylindrical bodies, said bodies being formed of cleaning, disinfecting and deodorizing materials, a single supporting wire, one end of said wire extending into one of said bodies, and the other end of said wire extending into the second body, a central loop in said wire between said bodies whereby the cleaning device is suspended in the toilet bowl.
