This invention relates to sheet pads in general and to the method of stacking sheets into pads in a' certain predeterminedmanner, and for certain purposes which will be presently evident.

The prime object of my invention is the method of producing a pad by stacking up a plurality of individual, unbound, uniformly sized sheets in such a manner as to facilitate "he separation and removal from the stack of the upper sheet or sheets, one or more sheets at a timepwithout disturbing the, remaining sheets. Another object of my invention it to proride means for accomplishing the primary object sought.

The pad support comprises a platform iiiii from which extend upwardly, edge portions adapted to limit the movement of thepad within'jthe holder. Referring to Figures 1 and 2, the cut-out 20 permits lifting the weight bar 21 when a stack of sheets is placed into the holder.

The arrangement and function of my de vice, as shown in the drawings and as de scribed above, clearly sets forth in which manner a plurality of, sheets may be stacked into pad formand held in that form so as to permit the removal of the topmost sheet while the rest of the stack is not affected.

It is ob'viousthat the application of this method or principle may find manifold use, one of which is its application as a paper or It is further obvious that the ar'iicie may be usec for permanent advertising purposes, in that an advertising label or other advertising matter is'placed upon the weight bar.

It is obvious that the method of forming paper pads, as described above, not only decreases considerably the cost of note pads by eliminating the binding together of the sheets, and by permitting the stacking up of an unlimited quantity of loose sheets, but also by facilitating the keeping of the pad at a uniform thickness by replacing used sheets.

WVhile I have shown and explained certain forms, it is evident that changes and varia tions may be made within the scope of my invention, and I therefore reserve for myself the right to make such changes or improvements without departing from the broad scope thereof.

I-claimf V 1. A sheet pad holder, comprising a pad support having upright and inclined padlimiting means, said upright pad "limit ng means provided with weight guides, and a .weight bar arranged between and having portions slidably mounted within said guides for exerting a pressure in the direction towards said pad support.

2. A sheet pad holder, comprising; a pad support having a plurality of upturned go portions forming pad-limiting; means, one of said edge portions being inclined'relative to said pad support and extending over sub stantially the entire width of the latter, a.

stack orpad of individual, ununited, uniformly sized sheets arranged upon said pad support; one of the edges of said pad abutting with thefinclined edge portion of sa1d pad support, thereby caus ng the formation of an incline at the edge of the pad disposed opposite to the abutting edge, said upturned racer/e1 edge portions which are not inclined relatwo to sa1d pad support provided with weight guides, a weight bar in engagement with said guides adapted for a downward movement and further adapted to rest upon and coinpress said sheet pad, allowing the removal of the topmost sheets without disturbing the sheets of the rest of the pad.

A sheet pad holder, comprising a pad support having a plurality of upturned edges forming upright and inclined pad-limiting means, the inclined limiting means serving as abutment for a stock of individual, unattached sheets, said upright means provided with weight guides,'a weight bar, capable of a downward movement, disposed between and having portions slidable in said guides and adapted to compress a stock or pad of sheets resting upon said pad support, al lowing the removal of the uppermost sheets without disturbing the remaining sheets.
