IMPROVEMENT IN COOKINGSTOVE.

represents the oven-door ot' a cookingstove open, with the ovenshelt dropped down, so that the said oven-shelf is ou a plane ot' the bottom ot' the oven. Fig. 2 represents the oven-door closed, the oven-shelf being raised at right angles tothe oven-bottom when said door is, closed.

In said drawings,-A is the oven; B, bottom of oven; C, oven-shelf; D,ovendoor; E, cam or projection on oven-door.

By the use ot this improvement an extension is mpade to the bottom when the ovendoor is open, so that pans o r other vessels used in, or in connection With, the oven can be drawn outside the oven, which is often found to be very necessary.

Near the -bottom of the oven-door I place the cam or projection E, as shown -in Fig. l, which, as the oven-door is closed, presses the under side `of the ovenshelf and raises it.-

What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

In combination with a stove-oven, a hinged shelf, fitted to full out-ward land `down automatically when the oven-door is opened, and to be raised up by closing` the oven-door, adapted to operate upon it t'orthat purpose, substantially in the manner and for the purposes herein set forth. l
