It is desirable to actuate this aligning or straightening mechanism from the power driving the numbering machine, thus causing its simultaneous actuation with all ofthe numbering head units mounted upon the same'bridge. Consequently, while the aligning or straightening mech anism actsupon the various digit'wheels, it is not practicable to adjust the actuating means of the aligning mechanism with the digitwheelsof the set of any unit. 7 r
To meet this vcondition, I provide a cam shaft 63 ,rotatahlymounted inthe end frames 18 and19 offlthe bridgel3. This shaft-is a' rockingshaftactuated in. any desired m'anher from a cam 64 adjacent thenumbering head cylinder 11. This cam 64 is of a length to act simultaneously on all numbering-heads upon the cylinder 11.
