IMPRovEMENT In OIL-CAMS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 179,602, dated July 4, 1876; application filed May l5, 1876.
To all whom -it may concern:
Be it known that I, EBEN O. QUINBY, of St. Louis, in the county of St. Louis and State of Missouri, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Oil a-nd Safety Cans, which improvement is fully set forth in the following specification, reference beingl had to the accompanying drawings.
The object of my invention is to protect any metallic can or package used for the eonvcyance and holding ot' kerosene or other dan gerous oils, turpentine, or varnish, by means ofau exterior metal case, or metal with wooden st'eners or staves and binders, the bottom being wood, either vertical, parallel-sided, or bulged.

f, the spout; the entire arrangement being to afford perfect safety in the handling, transportation, and use 0f dangerous liquid substances or vessels liable to break, by guarding them against crushing or puncturing by usage or accident.
