The invention for holding wire cloth or the like "in fa window opening having associated with the various parts thereof strips of metal, bent in a manner .to hold and stretch screen materialthereto andproviding a slide or side z lfiange which may be sheared olf to compensate for misalignment in the window frame resulting from the settling of the building 'or from other similar causes; the holding'members and the compensating flange being formed integrally with a body portion. These metal strips may constitute theframe members themselves or may comprise a sheathing for fillermembers constituting the other side of the body portion'16 is a therewith the frame members.

In spaced relation to this rib and adjacent clamping member '18 formed in the same manner. This clamping member is bendable and, as shown in Figures 2 and 3, is bent down into parallelism with thebody portion in order to clamp the screen material 12between said clamping member and the body portion. Toward the free end of the clampingmember the same may be bent upwardly, as at 19, in parallelism With'the flange 17 afterwhich it may be bent again to parallelism with the body portion 16 to overlap the flange 17 The material beyond the flange 17, pro gressing around the filler in-a clockwise direction, as-shownin Figure 2 of the drawings, is extended downwardly in contact with the filler, as shown at 20, and then rearwardly on the opposite face thereof to the body portion, as at 21, being rebent upon itself, as at I 22, to form a connection with the flange 13 referred to above. The material may then be reversely bent, as at 23, andthenndownl which is a rib or flange 17 provided by rewardly, as at 24, and laterally to form a slide flange 25.

The top and bottom rails of thew-indow frame may be similarly encased by a metal strip, as shown-in Figure f the drawings,

In Figures4 and 5, as-stated above, are represented top, bottom and side frame constructions in which-the member 10 is omitted. The representation in Figure 4' illustrates the top and bottom construction and consists of a sheet of metal bent upon itself to'hold the edge of the screen. Thebendingof this metal may be as follows:

It will be noted that in this construction no raw' edges of metal areencountered as these'edges are both folded inwardly against the screen material.
