IMPROVEMENT lN BRACKET FLOWER-STANDS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 1 79,071, dated J 11110 20, 1876; application filed April 22, 1876.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, WILLIAM H. SHIRLEY, of Danvers, in the county of Essex, State of Massachusetts, have invented acertain new and useful Improvement in Bracket Flower- Stands, of which the following is a description sufficiently full, clear, and exact to enable any person skilled in the art orscience to which my invention appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part of this specification, in Which-- Figure l is an isometrical perspective view.
My invention relates to that class of bracket flower-stands which are designed for interior use, in connection with a glazed side opening or window for admitting the light; and consists in a novel construction and arrangement of the parts, as hereinafter more fully set forth and claimed, by which a more effective device of this character is produced than is now in ordinary use. p
The nature and operation of my invention will be readily understood by all conversant with such matters from the following description:
In-the drawing, A represents the floor, B the window-frame, and O the window. Attached to the frame are two lugs, I, (one not shown,) provided with vertical grooves or sockets, into which the lower ends of the side pieces G of the bracket are fitted, and by which and the chains or a they are supported. A series of pot troughs or pans, K, provided with curved downwardly-projecting flanges or lips L at the ends, are supported in the side pieces, the lips extending for this purpose through the horizontal slots J, the parts being so constructed as to enable the troughs to be readily removed. J ournaled in the lower end .-of the side pieces G, and between the troughs and window 0, there is a roller, H, carrying the curtain D, provided with the cord F. This curtain, it will be observed, is independent of the ordinary curtain pertaining to the window,
