l The present invention relates to' coolingf apparatus I for pulverulent kor granular l material and is particularly, although not exclusively, applicable in connection with. the manufacture ofvfcement. Hitherto this operation has been performed ,by a cooler constitutingapparatus distinct from the grinding mill. This, however necessitates a separate handling koperationandl requires the provision of increased space besides augmentingthe cost, and it is the main object of the present invention to overcomey i these disadvantages by combining the necessary cooling apparatus with the grinding mill. l j Y Y According to the invention the material'to be cooled on delivery from the grinding mill is passed througha number of tubes, cylinders or chambers of any suitable shape, which are subjected to the action of a cooling liquid passed through a jacket or sprayed or other- Y wise applied to the external surface yof each tube or chamber. The construction is such l that the cooling tubes orrchambers are attached'to or associated with the grinding mill so that the whole constitutes a single piece of l apparatus.
In order that the invention may be clearly understood and readily carried into effect, itV will now be described more. fully with reference to the accompany-ing drawing, which illustrates an example of apparatus in accordance therewith, and in which Figurel shows in longitudinal section a grinding mill suitable for treating cement and fitted with cooling apparatus in accord ance with present/invention, and
