This invention relates particularly to mechanism for simplifying the work of indexing books. ' The embodiment illustrated comprises a table 10 suitably mounted at a suitable'height above the floor (not shown) on supports f v V opposite the opening 15F-and places the book B to be indexed onlthetable in front of her.l

Above the rotatable member 13 is a stationaryplate 15 having a-single opening 15 facing the operator, and which isadapted to register successively with the openings 13 as the member 13 is rotated.

The rotatable member 13 hasa circular ratchet 16 secured thereto on the under side and this hasa series of ratchet teeth, prefer-f 5 ably one for each of the pockets 14. A11

Thus it will beseen that a very simple yeti. effective means is provided *for presenting tlie tabs toaii operator in the order in which they are to be inserted in a book,so that the operator is no longer required'to cheese between different tabs in orderto find the cor-o rect one for any particular iiisertion.

While i have shown and a scribed bet a single embodiment of my invention, it is understood that it is capable of many modifications; Changes, therefore, in the constr'uc-- tion and arrangement may bemade 'which'do not depart from the spirit and scope of the invention as" disclosed the appended claims.
