PATENT OFFICE -WILLIAlVI A. ZEIIDLER, 0F BRONXVILLE, NEW YORK SCISSORS Application filed May as, 1929. Serial no; 366,564.
my invention one embodiment of which is hereinafter more particularly set forth.
For a more detailed description of my invention, reference is to be had to the accom- 0 panying drawings, forming a part hereof, in
which Figure 1 is a plan view of a portion of scissors embodying my invention, the scissors being open. v.
Figure 2 is a similar view of the scissors, closed; and
Figure 3 is a sectional view taken on the line 33 of Figure 2.
, Throughout the various views of the drawings, similar reference characters designat which will be described below. The two blades are united at off-set pivot 4 which will. now be described. The blade 2 has a laterally extending projection 5 and to this is pivoted a disc 6 which is fiXed'to the screw 4 and the screw 4 turns in the projection 5 as indicated in Figure 3. The disc 6 is fixed to the laterally extending screw 7, as shown, and to this is securedthe blade 3 which has a screw threaded opening to receive the screw 7 and which is not tight on the screw 7 but can turn a little so that the cutting edge 8 of theblade 3 will naturally and instinctively be cutting in proper relation with the cutting'edge 9 of the blade 2 of the scissors when used in the conventional manner. The scissors are asin the scope of the annexed claims.
While I have shownand described one embodiment of my invention, it is obvious that it is not restricted thereto, but that it is broad l enough to cover all structures that'come with-' Having thus described my invention, What I claim is: I y
l. A pair of scissors having two blades, one of which is rigid thruout and provided with an oil-set pivot and the other of which has a I correspondingly off-set pivot and an additional pivotal connection to its ofi-setpivot.
2. A a, pairrof scissors having two fiat blades, one of which is rigid thruout and provided with an off-set pivot and theother of an additional pivotal connection to its ofi-set pivot. V c p In testimony whereof, I, have hereunto set my hand this 25th day of May, 1929.

sembled by securing the parts 6 and 3 together by means of thescrew 7 and thereafter connecting the blades 2 and 3-by means of the screw 4;. When assembled, the scissors are used in the normal way, but these scissors differ from normal ones because the blades 2 and 3, intheir cutting portions, rest flat against each other, and cut accordingly so that it is easier togrind these blades and keep them 550 true and in proper functioning condition.
