IMPROVEMENTIN SPRlNG-SHANKS FOR BOOTS AND SHOES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 177,945, dated May 30, 1876; application filed April 24, 1876.
10 all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, SILAS P. LITTLEFIELD, ofLynn, of the county of Essex and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Shank-Springs for Boots or Shoes; and do hereby declare the same to be fully described in the following specification and represented in the accompanying drawings, of which Figure 1 is a perspective view, and Fig. 2 an end view, and Fig. 3 a top view, of one of my improved articles.
In carrying out my invention I provide the elastic shoe-shank, or curved metallic or steel spring A, With a pointed spur, B, to project from one end of it, at or about at a right angle to the spring, all essentially as represented, and the said spur and spring being in one piece,
.the shoe-shank spring A, provided with the fastening and clinching spur B, in one piece with and extended from the said spring, substantially as set forth. i
