This invention has for its object a four barreled pistol having a single striker which is brought by rotation to register in succession with each of the barrels. The axes of 5 the four barrels pass through the four vertices of a quadrangle, the intersection points of the diagonals of said quadrangle being also the center of rotation of the striker. striker is eccentrically mounted. on the hammer, which is constituted by a small cylinder revolubly mounted on its axis on the end of an oscillating lever actuated by the trigger. When the hammer is brought into the cocked position, the small cylinder carrying the striker performs the fourth part vof a revolution on its axis. At the end otits stroke the lever is released under the action of a spring and the striker hits the cap of one of the four cartridges causing the iiring. The arrangement producing the rotation of the small cylinder and striker is constituted by a ratchet and pawl mechanism, the four teeth of which are arranged on the cylinder end opposed to the end carrying the striker, while the pawl follows the lever during its oscillation and by its oscillation on another pin causes the cylinder to advance by one tooth.
The cooking releasing and percussion mechanism is carried by a frame forming also the arm stock, to whichis secured the barrel block revolving on an eccentric pin, namely outside the quadrangle enclosing the barrel bores, so thatV introduction of the cartridges and extraction of the fired cartridge cases will be possible. e
Normally and particularly during ring, the barrel block is maintained in place by suitable groove and tongue joints forming a shoulder and by a closure device lthe opening of which brings the striker o ut of operation.

The arm Jframe is in the form of a stock and consists of a case closed at its vrear end by a wall 1 and at its front end by the trigger guard. The upper-wall of said case comprises a higher rear portion 3 carrying a pin 2O on which the barrel block 18 ,oscillates and a lower cradle-shaped front portion 4 receiving the barrel block and provided with grooves in which engage ribls of said block and anintermediate vertical portion 5'pr0- 80 vided with four holes 5 through which the striker passes during operation. j The lower partv of lsaid case comprises a portion A6, a guard 2 and an intermediate ported the pin onA which the lever 8 carrying the hammer voscillates.
The rear,` wall 1 is provided with ears 1 carrying the pin, of the lever 9 on which the pawl producing therota'tion ot the hammer cylinder is'mounted;l Said cylinder 10 'is revolubly mounted onthe end of ythelever ,8 and carries onone side a 'liange 11 with an ,eccentric strikerQlQ and on the other side a .ring 13 secured thereonby a screw and hav-l ing four teeth 14 with inclined faces* The lever Qcarries at'its end (Fig. 4) a spring vpawl 15, which-oscillating fromv'thel position shown in Fig. 2 to the position shown 14 caulsing the cylinder 10 to perform the fourth part of a revolution, said lever being inoperative during the return oscillation. The levers 8 and 9 are connected kinetically by means of a slot 8 and pin 16 provided in one of said levers and a slot 9 provided in the other lever and in Which passes the said pin. The lever 8 is provided at its lower end With a helical spring 17 holding it from back oscillation and forcing it forward for the percussion.
The barrel block 18 has four bores 19, the axes of Which (Fig. l) pass through the vertices of a quadrangle, the Wall being provided with funnel shaped holes 5 registering With said barrel bores and through which the striker 15 successively passe's at each full oscillation of the lever 8. The barrel block 18 is held in ContactV with the stock by means of a pin 20 secured to the Wall 3 by a plug, the barrel block revolving on said pin. During firing the pressure is transmitted to the cradle 4 of the stock through the grooves 4 and 4A, in Which engage the ribls 18 and 18. The normal position of the block 18 in the cradle 4 is ensured by a latch, as it Will be hereafter described.
The block 18 yis rotated through one half revolution, as shown in dotted lines in Fig. 2, for the purpose of effecting the loading of the barrel and thel extraction of the fired cartridge cases. This operation may be effected by means of a star-shaped extractor 21 operated by meanls of a rod 22 mounted in a longitudinal opening of the barrel block and slightly protruding from the front end of said block. By pressing said rod, the eX- tractor is brought out With the cartridge cases; a spring 23 returns the rod 22 into its rest position as soon as the pressure on the rod is released. V
The cocking and firing are effected by pressing on the trigger 24 pivoted on the cradle '4. Said trigger isY substantially constituted by a plate having a deep groove, in Which are pivotally mounted the levers 25 and 26, this latter acting as a sear.
The tWo springs 25 and 26 tend, the former to return the triggerr into its rest position forcing the lever 25 against the cradle l 4 the second to cause the lever 26 to slide against the lever 8 causing'it to oscillate until it enters the slot 8', at which time the lever 8 is relealsed and causes the striker to hit one of the four cartridges. The trigger when released returns to its rest position and is ready vfor a new shot. l d
Figs. 5 and 6 shovv the closure device of the block 18. The rib 18 of this latter is provided with a longitudinal cut in which engages a tooth 27 of a lever 27 pivotally mounted in the stock, an extension 27 of the lever 27 abutls against the lever 8. By causing the lever 27 to oscillate from the position of Fig. 5 to the position of Fig. 6, the
venting hitting, through an accidental release during handling, a cartridge not yet fired. Said lever 27 may be so formed as to act as a safety device.
The characteristic devices above described `may of course be used in connection With any iirearin other than a pistol Without departing from the scope of this invention.

Four barreled pistolvcomprising in combination `with a frame and a barrel block having four bores situated at the vertices of'a quadrangle, of a hammer constituted by a percussion lever mounted capable of oscillating in the frame, a cylinder revolubly mounted on one end of said lever, a striker eccentrically secured on said cylinder, a ring secured to the cylinder and carrying four ratchet teeth, a second lever pivotally mounted in the frame and connectedby means of a groove and tongue joint to said percussion lever and carrying a pavvl cooperating With said teeth in such Ia Way as to cause the cylinder to advance by one tooth at each back oscillation of said percussion lever, a spring tending to cause said percussion lever to effect fu its percussion movement and a trigger forcing said percussion lever backwards, said trigger vbecoming disengaged from the percussion lever at the end of its operative stroke.

Four barreled pistol comprising in combination a frame, a barrel block having four bores situated at the vertices of a quadrangle 'and mounted capable of oscillating 'on an eccentric pin, said eccentric pin being secured to the frame parallel to the barrel and engaging in an opening of the barrel block situatedvoutside the circle passing through ythe bore axes, a cradle in the frame supporting said barrel block, means for fastening the barrel block to the cradle, a hammer constituted by a percusison lever mounted capable of oscillating in the frame, ay cylinder revolubly mounted o n one end of said lever, a striker eccentrically secured to said cylinder, a ring secured to the cylinder and-carrying four ratchetV teeth, a second lever pivotally mounted in the frame and'connected by means of a groove and tongue joint to said percus- `'sion lever and carrying a pavvl cooperating with said teeth in such a vvay that the cylinder is caused to advance one tooth at each back oscillation of said percussion lever, a

Four barreled Vpistol comprising in combination a frame, a barrel block having four bores situated at the vertices of a quadrangle and mounted capable of oscillating on an eccentric pin, said eccentric pin being secured to the frame parallel to the barrels and engaging in an opening of the barrel block situated outside the circle passing through the bore axis, a cradle in the frame supporting said barrel block, means fastening the barrel block to the cradle, a hammer constituted by a percussion lever mounted capable of oscillating inthe arm frame, a cylinder revolubly mounted on one end of said lever, a striker eccentrically secured on said cylinder, a ratchet and pawl mechanism to cause said cylinder to perform the fourth part of a revolution at each oscillation of said lever, a trigger operating said lever and means for .Y bringing said percussion lever into the safety position when the barrel block is disengaged from the locking means.

Four barreled pistol comprising in combination a frame, a barrel block having four bores situated at the vertices of a quadrangle, a star-shaped extractor, a rod operating said extractor slidably mounted in a central opening, a hammer constituted by a percussion lever mounted capable of oscillating in the frame, a cylinder revolubly mounted on one end of said lever, a striker eccentrically secured on said cylinder, a ring secured to the cylinder and carrying four ratchet teeth, a second lever pivotally mounted in the frame and connected by means of a groove and tongue joint to said percussion lever and carrying a paWl cooperating with said teeth in such a Way as to cause the cylinder to advance one tooth at each back oscillation of said percussion lever, a spring tending to cause said percussion lever to eect its percussion movement and a trigger forcing said ypercussion lever backwards, said trigger becoming disengaged from the percussion lever at the end of its operating stroke.
