Abstract
331,298. Revelli, B. A. April 16, 1929. Breech actions, movable-barrel other than drop-down; barrels; firing-appliances.-A fourbarrelled pistol, of the kind in which the striker is eccentrically mounted on a rotatable cylinder and is adapted to register with each barrel in succession, has the striker and cylinder mounted on a lever which oscillates at each pull of the trigger, the cylinder being rotated by a pawl carried by a second lever pivotally mounted in the stock. The striker 12, Fig. 3, is carried by a cylinder 10 rotatably mounted on a spring-actuated pivoted lever 8 mounted in the stock. A lever 9, pivoted behind the lever 8, has a pin- and-slot engagement therewith and carries a pawl 15 which engages with teeth 14 formed on the cylinder 10. A trigger 24 has pivoted thereto a sear 26 which engages with and rocks the lever 8 rearwards when the trigger is pulled. In this movement, the pawl 15 rotates the cylinder 10 through 90‹ while a continued rearward movement of the trigger brings the sear 26 adjacent a slot 8<1> in the lever 8 which is thus released to fire a shot. A second spring-actuated sear 25 returns the trigger to its initial position. The barrel block 18 is eccentrically mounted on a pin 20 and is locked in its operative position by a tooth 27', Fig. 5, of a pivoted lever 27, which engages with a slot in a rib 18<11> of the barrel block. An extension 27<11> of the lever 27 holds the lever 8 in a retracted position when the barrel block is unlocked. For extracting the spent cartridges, a star-shaped extractor 21 is provided and is operated by a spring-actuated rod 22 disposed centrally within the barrel block.
