My composition consists of a mixture of a vegetable oil, a sodium hydroxide,.neutral soda which consists of bicarbonate and carbonate of soda, a liquid alkaline soap solution, an}? a cementlng material such as volcanic as g In preparing the composition I refer to use the ingredients in about the ollowing proportions: viz,
200# cocoanut oil or palm kernel oil, 107# caustic soda, 1 38 Baum sodium hydroxide solution of 150# water, 7 0# neutral soda consisting of bicarbonate and carbonate of soda, and i 900# volcanic ash.
To obtain good results, mix the. cocoanut or alm kernel oil and the caustic soda, lye 38 aum which is saponified and formed into a soap. Then take the 150 pounds of water 40 heated to 180 F. and dissolve in it 70 pounds of neutral soda in powdered form which is added to the liquid soap solution. Then the volcanic ash is added which is thoroughly saturated with the soap solution in a mixer.
From there the mixture is either run through Application filed September 19, 1927. Serial No. 220,634.

My composition is light, very eflicient and it possesses in a high degree all the desired properties of a scouring powder used for cleaning and polishing metal-ware or for keeping the hands of a person in perfect condition.
I claim:
1. A cleaning composition in a powdered condition, formed by mixing the following ingredients: vegetable oil and caustic soda lye 38 Baum in equivalent amounts; neutral soda, consisting of bicarbonate and carbonate of soda; and volcanic ash.
2. A cleaning composition in a powdered condition, formed by mixing the following ingredients: cocoanut oil and causticsoda lye 38 Baum in equivalent amounts; neutral soda, consisting of bicarbonate and carbonate of soda; and volcanic ash.
