IMPROVEMENT IN SPRING B'ED-BOTTOMS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 176,846, dated May 2, 18'16; application led January 15, 1876.
To all whom it may concern.'
Be it known that I, JOSEPH EOKART, of the city, county, and State of New York, have i11- vented a new and Improved Spring Bed-Bottoin,of which the following is a specication:

To the slats C and D, at suitable distances apart, are secured straps G, the outer ends of which are bent upward at right angles, and .have knobs g attached to them to enter eyelet-holes in the edges of the cover H, to` keep said cover in place. The cover H is designed to prevent the mattress from being Worn by the springs, `and when worn or soiled it may be detached and mended, or washed or replaced with a new cover, as may be desired.
y Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent'- The combination of the angle-straps Gr with the base-slats C D of a spring bedbottoxn, to adapt it to receive'a detachable cover, substantially as herein shown and described.
