Filed Sept. 25. 1929 2 Sheets-Sheet 2 ATTORNEY- Patented June 17, 1930 FRANK MCKAIE, F PLYMOUTH, PENNSYLVANIA TOY Application filed September 25, 1929. Serial No. 395,141.
My present invention has reference toa hand operated toy, and my object is the provision of a toy in which two handle carrying pivot-ed members have loosely associated therewith and otherwise loosely connected thereto in-a novel manner two figures, which, when the handles of the toy are brought toward or away from each other, approach or move away from each other to simulate the fighting of two roosters or the like.
To the attainment of the foregoing the invention consists in the improvement hereinafter described and definitely claimed.
In the drawings:
Figure l is a side elevation of my improvement.
Figure 2 is an edge view thereof.
Figure 3 is a view substantially similar to Figure 1 but showing the handle members swung away from each otherand the toy figures in section.
As disclosed by the drawings I make use of two crossed arms 11, respectively. The arms 1, at their points of crossing are piv- 2 otally connected, as at 2, and what I will term the inner ends of the arms are formed with handles 3. The outer ends of the curved arms 1 are received in central slots in the lower bifurcated body portions of toy figures 4 and are pivotally secured thereto, as at 5. The slotted portion of each of the toy figures has centrally pivoted thereto, as at 6, a rod 7. The rods cross each other and the outer ends of the rods are pivotally connected, as at 8, to the respective curved arms 1.
By gripping the handle portions of the arms and swinging the same toward and away from each other the toy figures, which represent fighting cocks or other animals, are brought toward and away from each other to assume fighting figures.
crossed and which are pivotally connected and which have one of their ends merging into handles, toy figures having the outer edges of their body portions centrallyslotted in which slots the second ends of the arms are received and pivoted, a rod pivoted in the bifurcated portion of each body adjacent to the forward end thereof and said rods crossing each other and being pivotally secured to the respective arms.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
. FRANK MoKAIE.
The toy while of an extremely simple construction will afford amusement to the operator thereof and the construction of the im- 50 comprising two curved arms which are provement will, it is believed be fully under-
