This invention relates to a frame adapted to rest upon a substantially level surface and to support a photograph or similar article in a suitable position for display.

The object of the invention is to provide a folder of this kind, made from cardboard or similar flexible material, which may be easily set up and in which the supported parts are interlocked and held in such relation as to constitute a well-braced and durable construction.

The specific construction of the invention, in its preferred embodiment, and the advantages thereof, will be more particularly explained inconnection with the accompanying drawing, in which,

The folder, which constitutes the subjectmatter of my invention, comprises a front panel 5 on which a photograph or the like may be mounted. A bottom flap 6 is connected to the lower end of the panel 5 and an upper flap '7 is similarly connected to the upper end of the panel. The folder is made from cardboard or similar material, which is scored or creased along the lines 8 and '9, respectively, thus providing fold or i hinge lines, about which the flaps may fold.

10 and 11 which converge from the upper corners of the flap to a point 12 near the center thereof, and a similar fold line or crease 13 extends along the 1011-7 gitudinalcenter line of the flap from the point 12' to the end thereof, thus forming lateral leaves 1 1 and which may be flexed about the

Thus, whenthe folder is set up the upper part ofthe flap 7, together with the leaves Hand 15 form a trihedral angle having its vertex at the point 12 and the lower end of the'fiap is L-shaped in cross section, similar to an angle bar. When thefolder is set up in the manner described, the form ofthe flap 7 gives-'ita marked strength and rigidity," although the material of which 'i't-is'mad'e may be quite flexible. The folder maybe very easily set up and will last indefinitely without any material distortion, yet may be easily taken down'and laid flat, when desired While I have shownand specifically described onlyione embodiment of the invention, it is obvious that various modifications may be made therein, without departing materially from the essential features of the invention, or'sacrificing any of it's advantagesl It is my intention, therefore, to include all such modifications within the scope of the appended claims. lVhat I claim'is': 1

A device of the character described, comprising a panel ada ted to be supported in inclined position, a ap connected to the upper edge of the panel'by a fold line to constitute a prop, said flap having three fold lines extending in different directions and meetingnear the center of the flap to form leaves flexibly connected, a flap connected to the lower edge of the panel and adapted to meet the first mentioned flap, and means for interlocking the meeting portions, said meansincluding tabs upon one flap and slits in the other, so arranged that the first mentioned flap is held with its leaves form- I ing an angle with each other, whereby one leaf stifi'ens the other.
