This invention relates to apparel and more particularly to a glove for use bytrappers and others whose work requires them to reach down quite far into water.
5 One object of the invention is to provide a glove ormedof rubber so that' it will'I .15 form the arm covering portion of the glove.
that it will be reinforced and prevented` from slipping downwardly when Worn, thereby eliminating danger of this arm covering portion slipping downwardly while reaching into water and allowing the water to enter theglove through its open upper end. Another object of the invention is to; s
form the arm covering portion ofthe glove thecontracti-on .of these .bands will cause .the 575 that its elbow portion will be eXtra strong and prevented from being liable to quickly n let At-o., .b,e .bound closely .abouti'the 4.arrn and wear out due to cracking of the rubber or Vextra wear which this portion is subjected v n n n n infor'clng ribs 7 areformed integralwith the i rubber-body '3. and extenddongitudinally -to when the gloveV is worn.
v Another object of the invention is to provide the arm covering portion with means causing it to be drawn tightly about the arm above the elbow and thereby preventing it I.ering portionso .thatthey may brace the same .and ,prevent it. vfrom: crumplingV while .85 v .atthe. same time not linterferingwith free I 'from sliding downwardly. y
The invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawing, wherein Figure l is a perspect' proved glove. Fig. 2 "s portion partly broken away. n
Fig. 3 is a transverse sectional view taken on the line 3-3 of Fig. 2,' and Fig. 4 is a similar view taken on thelinev .45* 4-4 of Fig. 2.
This improved glove consists fof a hand covering portion 1 from which extends an arm covering portion or gauntlet 2.Y The hand covering portion is formed of soft rubber so that it will not interfere with easy fthe lining I.or sleeve'has intimate engagement Ylyffof the .glove that whenthe. glove .iszworn 4this .secondhand 6 willi-be Vdisposedv above ,ajpersonselbow Therefore., the twoelastic bandswill be disposedabout a persons upve view of the imf hasv also..,been:providedea thickened portion a longitudinal sectional viewv 40 through the glove with the .handv covering.'

ing wet. The hand covering portion is preferablyV of suflicient size to allow a pair of woolen gloves to be first put on and thereby afford warmth and the arm covering portion or gauntlet is of such length that it will practically cover a persons entire arm from the wrist to the shoulder.
Therefore, a person wearing these gloves can reach deeply into water in order to find a muskrat or other animal which has dived into the water without getting Vhis arms or coat sleeves wet. This vwill prevent a great deal of rheumatism and colds caused by a trapper Vgetting hisA sleeves and arms wet when reaching into water. The elastic bands cause the upper portion of the gauntlet to be bound about the upper arms and the ribs 7 are sufficiently Astiffl to prevent the gauntlet portion from Yhaving atendeney to crumple and assist thev elastic bands in retaining the gloves in proper position about a persons arms. It will thus be seen that I have provided a glove which, when worn, will serve very effectively to keep a persons hands andl arms and the sleeves of a coat from becoming wet when reaching into water in order to recover a trapped animal or when doing any work which requires reaching into water.
Having thus described the invention, I
claim:
l. A water-proof glove comprising a hand covering portion and an arm covering portion extending therefrom, the said hand covering being formed of rubber and the arm covering portion consisting of a rub- Vber body merging into the hand covering portion, and ribs extending longitudinally upon the outer face of said body and spaced Vfrom each other circumferentially thereof,
the elbow lcovering portion of the body being thickened to form a reinforcement of VVa thickness corresponding to ythethiclrness of the ribsv f2.z A water-proof glove comprising a hand'covering portion and an arm covering portion extending therefrom, the said hand covering being formed of rubber and the arm covering portion consisting ofa rubber body merging into the hand covering portion, a fabric lining adhering to the inner surface of said body, and elastic bands embedded in the body in encirclingv `relation to the lining and spaced from each other longitudinally of the lining and adapted to draw the arm covering portion tightly about a persons varm and retain theV glove in place. .i Y
A water-proof glove comprising a hand'covering portion and an arm covering portion extending therefrom, the said hand covering portion being formed of rubber and the'arm covering portion consisting of a rubber body merging intofthe hand covering portion, ribs extending longitudinally nature. y
