The present invention relates to devices closed my invention as comprising-a substanfor aiding a persons hearing, commonly known as ear trumpets and comprises essentially a casing adapted to fit upon the ear of the person having intake and discharge ends and providing air passages within the casing between said intake and discharge ends for condensing the sound waves passing therethrough before the same enters the ear orifice.
The invention also embodies means, for placing the casing upon the ear with facility and for securely retaining the casing inposition thereon against accidental displacement.
One of the important objects of the invention is to provide a device of this character of a. simple and practical construction, which is neat and attractive in appearance, which serves to efiiciently amplify the air waves for discharge into the ear orifice of a person using the device, which is relatively inexpensive to manufacture and otherwise well adapted for the purpose for which the same is intended.
Other objects and advantages reside in the special construction, combination and arrangement of the various elements forming the invention as more fully hereinafter described and claimed, reference being had to the accompanying drawings forming part hereof wherein like numerals refer to like parts throughout, and in which:

Referring now to the drawings in detail, for the purpose of illustration I have distially flat casing 5, composed of inner and outer wall sections 6 and 7 respectively-with one end of the casing open and with its opposite end curved-as shown at 8.
- The parts comprising the casing may be constructed of any suitable material well known in the art and secured in assembled position in any convenient and desirable manner to facilitate its manufacture in quantities.
Within the casing is positioned an air chamber 9 of generally centripetal formation, as will be more clearly observed from an inspection of Figures 3 and 6 of the drawings, and which includes a convolute wall 10 having one end indicated at 11 spaced from the curved wall v8 of the casing and with its opposite end 12 eurled'inwardly and terminating at a discharge opening 13 formed in the inner wall 6.
The inner wall 6 serves to close one side of the air chamber and the opposite side of said'chamber, adjacent the outer wall 7, is provided with a tapered cover 14 inclining inwardly from the outer to the inner end of the convolute wall 10 and also inclined toward the center of the air chamber, as will be observed from an inspection of Figure 2 of the drawings.
The air chamber 9 opens toward one side of the casing, as indicated at 15 and extending outwardly from the center of said opening is a guide partition 16 which has its ends flared outwardly from said opening and terminating in spaced relation against the side wall of the casing.
The opposite edges of the partition 16 engage the inner side of the inner and outer sections 6 and 7 so as to close communication through that side of the casing provided with the partition. Consequently one section of the partition, indicated at 17 constitutes a guide for the air passage 18 formed between the rear curved wall 8 of the casing and the convolute wall of the air chamber for directing sound waves passing along said air passage to the opening 15 of the chamber 9.

An ear trumpet comprising a casing having. a month end, a plurality of air compartments formed within the casing, each having communication with said mouth end and tapering inwardly from the mouth end, a tapering centripetal air passage communicating at its larger end with the reduced portions of said compartment, a dischar e port for said air passage, a nipple revoluiily attached to said discharge port and provided with a restricted discharge opening, a flexible bearing formed on the sides of the nipple inwardly of the discharge openin to provide an air tight seal with the walls 0? the ear orifice within which the nipple is inserted and means for attaching the casing to the ear comprising a wire hanger having one end bent for fitting over and behind the lobe of the ear and with an intermediate portion of the wire formed with a return bend to provide a pair of parallel sections, staples carried by the casing for receiving said sections of the wire and receiving the same in spring pressed engagement and a hook formed on the opposite end-ofthe wire for detachably securing the wire to the temple bar of a pair of eye 5 glasses. s r
' 11. An ear trumpet comprising a casing having a mouth end, a-plurality of air compartments formed within the casing, each having communication with said mouth end and tapering inwardly from the mouth end,
a tapering centripetal air passage communieating-at its larger end with the reduced portions of said compartment, a'discharge port for said air passage, a nipple revolubly attached to said discharge port and provided with a restricted discharge opening, a flexible bearingforming on the sides of the nipple inwardly of the discharge opening to provide an air tight seal with the walls of the ear oriao fice Within which the nipple is inserted, and
means forinterchangeably attaching the easing to either ear comprising a wire hanger having one end bent for fitting over and behind the lobe of the ear and with an intermediate portion of the wire formed with a return bend to provide a pair of parallel sections, staples carried by the casing for receiving said sections of the wire and retaining the same in spring pressed engagement in and a hook formed on the opposite end of the wirefor detaehably securing the wire to the temple bar of a pair of eyeglasses.

An eartrumpet comprising a casing having a mouth end, a plurality of air compartments formed within the casing, each having communication with said mouth end and tapering inwardly from the mouth end, a tapering centripetal air passage communicating at its larger end with the reduced portions of said compartment, a discharge port for said air passage, a nipple revolubly attached to said discharge port and provided with a restricted discharge opening, a flexible bearing forming on the sides of the nipple inwardly of the discharge opening to provide an air tight seal with the walls of the ear orifice within which the nipple is inserted, and means for interchangeably attaching the easing to either ear comprising a Wire hanger re having one end bent for fitting over and behind the lobe of the ear and with an intermediate portion of the wire formed with a return bend to provide a pair of parallel sections, staples carried by the casing for receiving said sections of the wire and retaining the same in spring pressed engagement, a hook formed on the opposite end of the wire for detachably securing the wire to the temple bar of a pair of eye glasses and a head band 69 having one end relnovably inserted under said staple between the parallel sections of the wire and with its opposite end adapted to ex-. tend across the top of the head of the wearer.
