Description

s. T. BISSELL & W. L'. BRACE.
MUSIC-RACK.
Patented April 4:, 1876.
UNITED STATES PATENT Orrrcav S. TUDOR BISSELL AND WALTER LIBRAOE, OF HARTFORD, CONN.-
IMPROVEMENT m MUSIC-RACKS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 175,651, dated April 4, 1876; application filed November 29, 1875.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that We, 8. TUDOR BISSELL and WALTER L. BRAGE, of Hartford, in the county of Hartford and State of Connecticut, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Music-Racks, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, where- Figure 1 is a front view. Fig. 2 is a side view.
The improved device is more especially intended for holding the books and music of bands of music, though its use is not confined to them.
The letter a denotes the main rod, to which is fixed the lower support 1), shown in the drawings as made of wire, with the dropped loops b at the ends, for receiving and holding the music-book. 0 denotes a tube sliding on top of rod a, and having fixed to it the upper support d, similar in shape (with loops d) to the lower support. This upper support comes down upon and over the top of the musicbook, and as it, with tube 0, can slide up and down, it can accommodate itself to, books of different widths. The thumb-screw 0, running through tube 0, and bearing against rod a, serves to hold the upper support at any desired point.
The parts are, by preference, metallic.
We claim as our invention- In combination, rod a, lower support I), having dropped loops b, sliding tube 0, and upper support d, having raised loops d, all substantially as described. I
S. T. BISSELL. W. L. BRAUE. Witnesses: GEORGE G. SILL, R. F. GAYLORD.
