The present invention relates to a rubber swimming tube which also may be used as a life'preserver and has for its prime object to provide a device of this nature which may be formed from one or more tubes constructed with a flat like portion to extend under the arms and air receiving chambers or reservoirs with inflation valves associated therewith. v
Another very important object of the invention resides in the provision of a device of this nature which is exceedingly simple in its construction, inexpensive to manufacture, durable, thoroughly eflicient and reliable in purpose for which it is designed.
With the above and numerous other objects in view as will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in certain novel features of construction, and in the combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described and claimed.

Referring to the drawing in detail and particularly to Figures 1 to 3 inclusive it will be seen that I utilize a continuous rubber tube anddiametrically opposite portions 5 thereof have their walls cemented together as illustrated to advantage in Figure 3 so as to be flat like leaving the remaining diametrically opposite disposed portions 6 inflatable and in these portions 6 are inflation valves 7 Rubber bands 8 are disposed'about the portions 6 and the valves 7 for'protection purposes. With this device it will be seen, that portions 5rmay be placed under the arms of 1929. Serial No. 356,729.

In Figures 4 to 6 inclusiveI have'shown an embodiment wherein the tube is formed in two sections each having inflatable portions 6' and fiat like end portions 5 formed in the same manner as portions 5.
These portions 5 are connectible together by means of hooks 9 and slots 10 as will be readily apparent from inspection of Figures 5 and 6. Thus these sections may be separated and put together enabling the device to be more easily adjustable to the size of the person. Otherwise this modificationis identical with the embodiment first described.
It is thought that the construction, utility and advantages of this invention will now be quite apparent to those skilled in this art without a more detailed description thereof.
The present embodiments of the invention have been disclosed in considerable detail merely for the purposes of exemplification since in actual practice they attain the features of advantage enumerated as desirable in the statement of the invention and the above description.
It will-be apparent that changes in the details of construction may be resorted to without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed or sacrificing any of its advantages.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is: Y

A device of the class described comprising a continuous tube, having oppositely disclosin the ends of the inflatable portions, said ffap like portions being formed in sections, two sections being attached to each inflatable portion, and means for detachably 5 connecting the sections of the flap like portions together.
