The invention relates tononrefillable bottles, and has for its object to provide a device of this character, the stopper of'which is provided with a double valve seat with which i a reciprocating valve cooperates in a manner whereby liquid will be allowed to pass from the bottle during a pouring operation by the unseating of the valve with'one of the valve seats, the liquid allowed to pass around the valve through discharge ports in the other valve seat, andspring means for-maintaining the valve out of engagement with the 7 last named valve seat during the pouring 7 operation. The spring means .is strong enough to prevent the seating of the valve during a pouring operation, but not strong enough to prevent the unseating of the valve upon inverting the bottle Wherethe weight of the liquid will be on the valve. 7 A further object is to provide a nonrefillable bottle stopper comprising a body member having a slidable tubularmember therein and terminating in a double .valve, which double valve cooperates with adjacent 5 valve seats in a manner whereby upon in verting the bottle the weight of the liquid will unseat the valve in relation to the lower or inner valve seat, thereby allowing the liquid to pass around the valve and through discharge ports in the outer valve seat. Also to provide spring means cooperating with the valve and preventing the seating of the valve on the outer valveseat during a pouring operation and'forming means whereby upon fraudulent attempts to fill the bottle under a vacuum or pulsation, the valve will be seated. o I
