Description

COMBINATION GARMENT SUPPORTER AND COMFORTER' Filed June 7, 1929 UN ET PATENT QFFICE ROY GAY, OF MEMPHIS, TEXAS COMBINATION GARMENT SUPEORTER AND COMFORTER Application filed June 7, 1329.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in garment supporters and more particularly to a device which is also adapted to be utilized as a comforter for human feet.
The principal object of the invention is to provide a support especially adapted for holding drawers legs about the ankles of the wearer. 7
Another object of the invention is to provide a retainer for preventing the legs of night clothes from rising on the legs of the wearer.
These and other important objects of the nvention will become more apparent to the reader after considering the invention as described and claimed hereinafter.
in the drawings: 7
Figure 1 represents a side elevation of the improved device attached to a persons foot.
Figure 2 represents an enlarged perspective view of the novel device.
Referring to the drawings, wherein like numerals designate like parts, it will be seen that the device includes a band 5 of suitable elastic material and provided with adjustable means 6 at one end thereof for extending or shortening its length. i
The opposite end of the band is attached to a pad 7 as at 8, and from the pad 7 protrudes a fastener generally referred to by numeral 9 which is of well-known construction. The adjustable end of the band is provided with a loop 10 for engagement over the protuberance 11, on the pad 7. Elongated members 12 are secured to one longitudinal edge portion of the band and at diametrically opposite points thereon when the band is considered in its looped position as shown in Figure 2. Extending from one of the stillener members 12 and transversely of the band 5 is a plate 13 having a protuberance 14 thereon similar to the protuberance 11. A strap 15 is of suitable elastic material and is looped at its end 16 for circumscribing the portion of the band to which the other stiffener 12 is secured. The loop 16 is secured to the band 5 by the stitching 17. The strap 15 is also pro-.
vided with adjustable means 18, while a loop Serial No. 369,211.
19 at its free end is engageable with the protuberance 14 on the plate 13.
In referring to Figure 1, it will be seen that 20 denotes a human foot, while 21 represents a drawers leg terminating at its lower end adjacent the ankle portion of the wearer. In this figure of the drawings, the garment supporter is shown engaged with the drawers leg and this position of the supporter is accomplished by moving the band 5 about the instep of the foot and attaching the fastener 9 to the lower end portion of the drawers leg, after which the strap 15 is disposed around the rear of the ankle portion of the foot and securedto the opposite side of the band as shown in Figure 2. Thus, the drawers leg is retained in a downward position, while the disposition of the band and strap affords comfort to the foot of the wearer.
Vvhile the foregoing description has been in detail, it is to be understood that numerous changes in the specific shape, size, and materials may be resorted to, without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimd hereinafter.
What isclaimed as new is:
A combination drawers leg supporter and foot comforter comprising an arch supporting band of elastic material, means projecting from the band for attachment to the lower end of a -drawers leg, and an adjustable strap for disposition around the rear portion of the ankle, and having its ends secured to the said band.
In testimony whereof I af'ix my signature.
ROY GAY.
