Description
E. DEBLIEUX.
REDUCER FDR SIPHON BOTTLES. No. 175,049. Patented March 21,1876.
NJ'ETERS. FHOTO-LITNOGRAPMER. WASHINGTON. u c.
UNITED STATES PATENT OEFIoEf EDWIN DEBLIEUX, OF NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA.
IMPROVEMENT IN REDUCER S FQR SIPHON-BOTTLES Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 175,049, dated March 21, 1876; application filed August 20, 1875.
Bottles; and I do hereby declare the follow ing to be a full, clear, and correct description of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawing, making a part of this specification.
My invention relates to an improved attachment for siphon-bottles, the object of which is to reduce the size of the stream of seltzer, or other liquid that is delivered therefrom so that it may the more thoroughly mix with the sirup or liquor with which .it is designed to he drank.
B y referring to the accompanying drawing, in which Figure 1 represents a side view of the reduceras applied to a siphon-bottle, parts being removed, and Fig. 2 a side view of the divided coupling-ring, the reducer, as well as its mode of application, will be readily understood.
The reducer is made separate from the spout of the siphon-head, in order that it may be detached therefrom whenever it is necessary to charge the bottle, whicliI is always done by means of a suitable apparatus through the said spout.
On the drawing, A represents an ordinary siphon-bottle, and B the head thereof. 0 is the spout, near the outer end of which I out an annular groove, a, so as to fit thereupon a divided coupling'ring, b b, upon the outer sides of which is cut a thread, over which the nozzle D is screwed.
.A washer of leather or other suitable matetial is inserted within the bottom of the nozzle so as to make a perfectly tight joint between the said nozzle and the end of the spout, thereby preventing any escape of either gas or liquor from between the same.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
In a siphon-bottle, the spout 0, having an annular groove, a, coupling-ring formed in two semicircles, b 12, having screw-threads out on the outside, and detachable nozzle 1), the whole constructed and arranged to operate substantially as described.
