IMPROVEMENT IN HAND- CARTS.
Specification forming partof Letters Patent No. 174,732, dated March 14, 1876; application filed December 4, 1875. 1
1'0 all whom it may concern: Be it known that I, JOSEPH M. JONES, of Paris, Bourbon county, Kentucky, have invented a new and Improyed Shifting Body for Hand-Carts, of which the following is a specification Figure 1 of the drawing is a longitudinal, and Fig. 2 a transverse "ertical, section.
The invention consists in combining, with the body ofa hand-cart, a cranked axle and an elliptic spring, the latter resting on the sliding frame, while the cranked axle supports it.
A represents the body of a hand-part B, the elliptic spring; 0, the sliding frame; D, the cranked axle, and E the wheels, while F is the handle-frame, by which the vehicle is to a full understanding of my invention, what I claim as new is v The combination, in a hand-cart, with a body, sliding frame, and intermediate spring B, of a crank-axle, D, journaled in the wheels E E, as shown and described.
