lMPRovEMENT IN BAG-HOLDERS.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 174,485, dated March 7, 1876; application filed February 14, 1876.

To all whom it may concern:

` Be it known that I, PERCY COLE. of Willmar, in the county of Kandiyohi and State ot' Minnesota, have invented a new and Improved Bag-Holder; and that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and tothe letters ot'vret'erence marked thereon, making part of this specication.

This inventionis in thenature of an improvement in bag-holders; and the invention consists -in a bag-holder constructed with a hopper, hinged to a support, and combined with arms for holding therbag when it is pressed between such arms and the spout ot' the hopper, substantially as hereinafter fully described.

A represents the support for the bag-holder.

This support is properly provided with a suit l able foundation, B. Onto the face of the support A, and near its upper end, are affixed two arms, D D, which are at right angles to the face ot' the support. Hinged to the upper end of the support A is a hopper, E, provided d with a spout, a. The end of the support is beveled to permit the hopper to lie at right Vangles to the support.

Now, my bag-holder being constructed substantially as above described,it is operated by turning back the hopper, as shown in Fig. 2, placing the spout a of the hopper within the mouth ot' the bag to be filled, when, by turning the hopper back to an upright position, the outer edge ot' the mouth of the bag is firmly compressed between the spout ct of the hopper and the arms D D, as shown in Figs. 1 and 2, in which position it is filled by means ofthe hopper, and when full vthe hopper is simply turned back, which withdraws the spout from the mouth of the bag, when it Y may be at once removed.

Having thus described the construction and operation ot' my bag-holder, what I claim as y new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, 1s

The above-described bag-holder, consisting ofthe beveled standard A, hinged hopper E a, and arms D, constructed and operatin g substantially, as and for the purpose specified.
