To all whom it may concern:

Beit known that I, JAMES V. SIX, of Tiffin, State of Ohio, have invented an Improvement in Ironing-Tables, of which the following is a specification:

The object of my invention is to provide a convenient and strong table for ironing purposes; i

Fig. 2 represents my invention folded up, being a view of the under side; and Fig. 3.is a side view showing theposition in which the toe'end of the ironing-board A can be raised for the purposes hereinaftersetforth' and described. My invention consists of a common shapedironing-board, A,to which is firmly attached, on the under side, near the heel end,'a block of wood, 1, around the ends of which the two legs B and 0 turn. These legs are held together by means of the braces MM--one near the top, the other near the bottom. The upper ends of these legs are made rounding. Near the upper brace M a movable block, H, is "fastened to the legs B and O bymeans of pivots or any other suitable device. To the center of this movable block H- is attached firmly the connecting-brace G. The other end of this brace G is attached to the movable block J. This block is made and attached, like the block H, to the two legs D and E, batmear the bottom. These legs are made like the-legs Band C, with this exception-that the upper ends are cut ofi nearly square, and, not attached to the ironing-board A, but fitting instead ,into'two notches cutinto the under side of the same. These,legs'"D and E are held together by means of thefbr'aces'N None near the top, the other near the bottom.

The legs B, C, D, and E are made of square, rectangular, or any other suitable shape, having the bottom ends out on a bevel, 1 To the brace G are attached two shorter braces, Kan'd F, bymeans of hinges. The shorter one, K, is attached nearthe center .upon the upper ,side, and is provided with a hook at the other end, which passes under the upper brace N of the legs D and E. This bra'ceN is just long enough to hold the legs D' and E when the upper ends'have passed into the notches in the under side of the ironing-board. The longer brace F is attached upon the under side of the brace, G, a short distance from the place where the brace G passes into the movable block J.' The other end of this brace F is provided with a hook, which passes over and hooksinto the lower brace M of the legs B and O. This brace F is for the purpose of holding firmly the legs B and G at a vproper angle to theironing-boardA; The braces F, G, and K are so made that they holdthe legs in an anglebending toward each other at the top, thereby making a firm support for theironing-board, which is placed upon them. The legs B, O, D, and E are so made that they fold in flat when the braces K and F are iinfastened. The-top of the legs D and E folding toward the center, the brace F is then turned out; the back legs B and O are turned in upon the pivots at the ends of block I, which forces the lower brace N of the legs a D and E under the button T, which is screwed to the lower side of the-ironingboard, at the toe end. I The brace F is then turned down and fastened by a loop or bet- Q ton to the block I,-making a compact portable table, which, when not in use, can be put aside and not takeup but verylittle more room than the ordinaryironing-board.

.In ironing dresses and similar articles the legs D and E will be in the Way. To provide against this I have fastened by a hinge the movable arm or brace L -to the rear and top side of the brace G nearthe movable block H. This arm or braceL is madeof theproper length t9 hold the ironing-board A up above the tops of the legs D and E garment can be easily passed. The-board is then let down by removing the arm L. There is then suflicient room underneath the ironing-board to turn the dress or other garment any dangenof catching, besides keeping" it off specified.
