IMPROVEMENT IN COMBINED TABLE KNIVES AND SPOONS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 174,241, dated February 29, 1876 application filed '1 January 15, 1876.
I To all whom it may concern:
Beit known that I, JAMES HIGGINS. of Detroit, Wayne county, Michigan, have invented a new and Improved Oombined Table-Knife and Spoon, of which the following is a specification: I
My invention consists of a spoon-boWl-shaned cavity formed in the blade of a table-knife, near the point of the blade, but without destroying the integrity of the edge, point, and
- back of the blade, so that the blade remains in suitable form for its functions as a blade,
and at the same time it combines a spoon-bowl useful for liquid or semi-liquid food, sometimes occurring more or less with solid food, and for A which spoons are not commonly used.
The drawing is a side view of a combined table-knife and spoon of my invention.
A is the blade, and B the spoon-bowl, the
former being of any common orapproved kind, and the latter being a cavity formed in the blade by striking or pressing it in dies to the required shape, care being taken to preserve JAMES IEUGrGrINS.
