`IMPROVEMENT IN SPRINGy BED-BOTTOMS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 173,896, dated February 22, 1876; `application filed Y November 28, 1874.
To all whom 'it may concern:
Be it known that l, J AMES W. OASE, of the city of Ypsilanti, in the county ot' Washtenaw and State of Michigan, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bed-Bottoms andl do hereby declare thatthe following,` is a full, clear, and exact description thereof,
y reference being had to theaccompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked hereinafter more fully set forth.
In order to enable others skilled in the art to which my invention appertains to make and use the same, I will now proceed to describe its'con'struction and operation, referring, to the annexed drawing, in which- Figure l is a plan view, and Fig. 2 is a cen tral vertical section, of' my bed-bottom.
Theiower frameot' my bed-bottom consists ot' two transverse end bars, A-A, upon which are fastened two spring-bars, B B, forming the side pieces of the frame. 'On top of each springbar B are placed two other springbars, C U, the in ner ends ot' which are inserted in clips a a, and rest against pins b b projecting from the lower spring-bar B. Each of the top springbars C rests on an adjustable fulcrum, d, placed between the bars B and G. The outer ends ot' the spring-bars C C are connected at each end otl the frame by a crossbar, D,`the upper surface of which is covered y necessary, and more or less spring may be imi parted by the adjustment of the fulcrums d d.
