3 indicates the base, preferably provided with rubber buttons 4:, and v5 is a tube secured therein, and is provided at the top with a socket portion 6, through which the adjust ing screw 7 projects to bind the stem 8 adapted to telescopically slide therein, said stein I having secured at the top a split block 9, with a transverse bore 10, from which the split 11 extends to the outside of the same, said block being also drilled and tapped at'right angles thereto, as indicated in dotted outline at 12, to receive the thumb screw 13. r i
14 indicates the upper support which is preferably stamped from sheet metal, having turned down ears or bearings 15, adapted to pass over the block 9, and having holes therethrough for the pin 16, which passes through the hole 10 of the block 9. The center portion of the support and likewise the upper and lower transverse extension of the same are preferably provided with beads or corrugations 17 and 18 respectively, and the upper transverse portion is also preferably turned substantially at right angles, as indicated ably stamped therefrom as shown. This provides a ledge-like support for the inner side of the heel to rest upon while theshoe is being displayed, the sole portion resting the lower laterally extended portion 21.
The particular angle at which theshoe, or

Of course it will be understood that various modifications may be madein the construction and arrangement of parts without departing from the spirit of the invention as claimed.
We claim In a device of the class described, an integral I shaped stamping and a stand therefor, said stamping having an embossing substan tially I shaped in plan view following the contour of said integral shape, thelower portions of the upper arms of said stamping bent outwardly forming ledges.
In testimony whereof we hereunto affix our signatures.
