IMPROVEMENT IN RANGE-BOILER STANDS.
`Specification forming part of Letters Patent No.1 73,598, dated February 15, 1876; application filed f January 5, 1874.
` the following is a specification My invention consists inA the peculiar construction of a detachable top for range-boiler stands, adapted alike to support range-boilers with a flat iron bottom, or copper ones provided with what is ordinarily denominated a sunk bottom,7 as more fully hereinafter described. l
Figure 1 shows my top in perspective, as attached to'a'stand, the latter being Ashown in dotted lines. Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the reverse side of the top.
In the drawings is shown an iron ring7 provided with a flat surface, A, upon which the bottom of a range-boileris designed to rest. Outside this dat surface A is the upwardlyprojecting iange B, designed to prevent the range-boiler from being accidently removed from the stand. The inner side of this ring is provided witha downwardly-proj ectin g flange,
O, having a circular opening through the ring to receive the sunk bottom77 of a range-boiler,
while the dat portion of the bottom will rest upon the dat surface A. At oppositesides the flat surface is provided with sunken places, D, through thebot-tom of which the necessary screws secure the top to the branched pedestal, shown in dotted lines. The under side of these sunken places are grooved, as shown at a, to lit suitable projections on the top of the branching arms of the pedestal. Lugs b assistthe screws, which connect the top with the pedestal, to prevent the top from easily being turned on the pedestal.
What I desire to secure by Letters Patent as my invention is 1. The removable top for range-boiler stands,
provided with a flat surface, A, and upwardly and downwardly projecting lianges, B and O, for the purposes set forth.
