Description

rigidity of the front and provides a smooth top suface therefor.
A handle 15 stamped from a single piece of metal is riveted to the front as clearly shown in Fig. 3. The bottom edge of the handle has an upwardly extending ledge 16 formed integrally with the handle. The edge 14 0f the top and the ledge 16 of the handle form a 1ecess 17 into which suitable distinguishing means such as a card 18 1nay be inserted. This card may have notations thereon to design'ate the size and kind of nails which are stored in each 0f the several bins. The handleis rigidly secured t0 the front and has side members 19 to for1n a band hold 20.
These boxes are generally stored in racks (not shown) and placed side by side and above each other in tiers. 'The front ends of the b0x 1 nay protrudc outwardly f101n the racks at a line pelpelidicular t0 the heginning of tl1e downwardly inclined edge of the side. Thus it is readily seen that the bins require but a mininnnn a1nount cf space, that euch bin is properly 1narked, and tlflat easy access is provided for obtaining nails froxn thc bins.
From the foregoing description it Will be seen that a b0x is provided that is light in weight, streng and durable in construction which occupies aminimum amount of space and cntains i1nprovements heretofore unknown.
It is apparent that changes in f011n, c0n- -struction, and arrangement of parts may be 1nade Without departing from the spirit und without sacrificingthe advantages cf the invention a'n'd the right is reserved t0 1nake all such changes as may fairly fall within tl1e .scope of the following claim.
I claim:
In combination With a nail bin having a f01 wardly inclined front and a forWardly extending edge integral with said front and substantially at right angles thereto, 0f a handle stamped froin a single piece of metal fixed to said front and comprising a freut,
side 1ne1nbers integral with the front thereof t0 space said front fro1n the front of the bin and forming a band-hole, and an upwardly turned edge integral with the front 0f said handle and forming a recess between the frwardly extending edge of the bin und the upwardlyturned edge, t0 receive a card, 01 the like, to designate the contents 01": the bin.
