UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE,
-PHILIPP SOHAUBLE AND LOUIS DOHM, OF ELIZABETHPORT, NEW JERSEY.
IMPROVEMENT IN CANDLESTICKS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No- 173,241, dated February 8, 1876; application filed V January 7, 1876.
To all whom it may concern:-
Be it known that we, PHILIPP SCHAUBLE and LOUIS DOHM, of Elizabethport, Union county, NeW Jersey, have invented a new and Improved Candlestick, of which the following is a.specification Our invention consists of a coiled wire fixed upon a suitable base to serve for the tube of the ordinary candlestick, and having the upper end terminate in a hook for hanging it up readily, and also having avcup for the bottom of the candle, with a stein projecting out from it through the space between the coils, to raise and'lower the cup by screwing it up and down, and to serve for a handle for carrying the candlestick about.
Figure 1 is a side elevation of our improved candlestick, and Fig. 2 is a top view.-

metal plate for a base to hold it upright; O, the hook, in which the upper end of the wire terminates for hanging up the candlestick temporarily. D is the cup for the bottom of the candle, and E is the handle for the cup and for the candlestick.
Having thus described our invention, we claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- 1. The coiled-Wire candlestick A, having the upper end terminating in a hook, 0, substantially as specified.
2. The combination of the cup D and a handle, E, with the coiled-wire candlestick A,
substantially as specified.
