To all whom it mag concern:
Be it known that 1, ANDREW J. GUsTIN, of St. Albans, in the county of Franklin and State of Vermont, have invented a new and Improved Method of Treating Railroad-Rails, of which the following is a specification:
The invention will first be described in connection with drawing, and then pointed out in the claim.
In the accompanying drawing, Figure 1 represents a plan view, and Fig.2 a side elevation, of my improved mechanism for treating 'rails.

A represents the finishing-rolls, from which the rail is conveyed over common carrier-rolls B to the saws. A set of revolving gage-rolls, 0, takes up the rail and moves thesame to a second set of gage-rolls, O.'
The saws are applied in the customary manner, and the rail is then conveyed to a series of bending-rollers, E, of which the middle set is capable of being adjusted slightly out of line with the outer sets, for imparting such a degree of curvature to the rail that the straightening 0f the rail on cooling is produced. The rail is passed, by the revolving bending-rollersv E, to three or more endless chains, F, with rail-grappling shoes F.
