IMPROVEMENT lN ENVELOPES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 172,902, dated February l, 1876 application filed September 28, 1875. a
To all whom it may concern:
Beit known that I, J AGOB S.Woo1)woRTH, of the city of Brooklyn, in the. county of Kings, State of New York, have invented certain Improvements in Envelopes; and do declare that the following is a clear description of the same.
My invention relates to that class of envelopes used to carry or for holding writingbooks, drawing-books, 850.; and consists in making the corners of the same stronger.
This was done to this class of envelopes before by aid of separate or independent pieces, which required extra labor to put on, and consequently increased the cost of the envelope.
My invention obviates these difficulties by making the pieces of the same material of which the envelope is formed. Another advantage is that the corners are made stronger.
In order to describe my invention more fully I will refer to the accompanying drawing forming a part of this specification.

Having described my invention, I desire to claim and secureby Letters Patent- As a new article of manufacture, an envelope, as described, with strengthening-pieces f, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
