IPAINTERS IMPLEMENT OR PATTERN.
Application filed June 20, 1927, Serial No. 200,225, and in Germany June 29, 1926.
Figs. 1 and 2 are respectively a plan View of part, and a longitudinal section, of one appropriate constructional form of the same, while Fig. 3 is a fragmentary side View thereof on a larger scale;
Figs. 4 and 5 are similar views to Figs. 1 and 2 of a modification of the implement, while Fig. 6 shows part of Fig. 5 on a larger scale with a further modification thereof, and
Fig. 7 is a plan view of part of a further constructional form of the implement.
Referring to Figs. 1 to 3: The improved implement or pattern comprises a rectangular tubular frame a carrying in gratelike manner a plurality of parallel longitudinal cane strips 0 extending over its whole length and forming uninterrupted spaces 1) between them which serve for painting the desired parallel lines on a wall painting. The thickness of said cane strips, as well as their distance from one another, can be any desired one to suit the actual design to be painted. Said cane strips 0 have convex 40 outer contact surfaces with which they are placed upon the wall to be painted, whereby its longitudinal edges do not touch the wall but are spaced apart therefrom so that a neat painting without any blotting is attained.
Said cane strips 0 are preferably threaded in one piece by being passed through corresponding holes 03, e in the lateral members of the frame a.
Figs. 4 and 5 show, instead of a tubular, a plate-like frame a having one strengthening rib a" or two such ribs a (Fig. 6), the other arrangement of the cane strips 0 threaded in gratelike manner through holes d, e in the lateral frame members and forming uninterrupted spaces 6 between them being similar to that afore described.
As shown in Fig. 7, the pattern may also be punched out of a sheet-metal plate in gratelike manner so as to form an outer rectangular frame a with longitudinal stays a forming uninterrupted spaces 6 between them.
The imitation of the Gobelin or tissue design with the aid of the improved implement 5 or pattern is produced by first painting any picture or design on the wall and then painting weakly over said picture the uninterrupted parallel lines of the Gobelin or tissue design, which lines can be placed in any desired directions, with the aid of said implement, while particularly favourable colour effects can be attained by using two or more of such patterns with difierently spaced cane strips.
What I claim, is
An implement or pattern for painting imitations of Gobelins and tissue designs, comprising an outer rectangular frame, and parallel longitudinal stays which consist of cane strips threaded in one piece through the lateral frame members, said cane strips having convex outer contact surfaces.
