As the odoriferous material I prefer to employ extract of sassafras. I may however use other pleasant smelling materials such as oil of Wintergreen and esters generally.
The various ingredients may be employed 2% in widely differing proportions. Satistuctory cleaning compositions may contain the ingredients within the following ranges:
Pulverized soap 18 to 28 lbs. 3U Pulverizcd soda ash 5 to 9 lbs.
Pulvcrized borax 5 to 12 lbs. Mineral abrasive 2 to 8 lbs. Aqueous ammonia (double strength) pint to 1 quart. Odoriferous extract A pint to 1' quart.
As a specific example the following is given:
Pulverizeol soap (92%) 23lbs.
Application filed March 24, 1928. Serial No. 264,569.
Pulverized soda ash 6% lbs. 0 Pulverized borax 9% lbs. Fullers earth 3 lbs. Aqueous ammonia (double strength)- pint. Essence of sassafras pint.
Sal soda may be used instead of soda ash, but it is advisable to use about double the quantity. The essence of Sassafras may suitably be produced by dissolving 1 4 oz. of oil of sassat'ras in a gallon of alcohol.

I claim:
1. A cleansing composition comprising soap 18 to 28 lbs, sodium carbonate 5 to 9 lbs, borax 5 to 12 lbs., mild abrasive 2 to 8 lbs, and pint to 1 quart of double strength ammonia.
2. A cleansing composition comprising soap 18 to 28 lbs., sodium carbonate 5 to 9 65 lbs, borax 5 to 12 lbs, mild abrasive 2 to 8 lbs, pint to 1 quart of double strength ammonia and pint to .1 quart of odoriferous extract. 3. A cleansing composition comprising pulverized soap (92%) 23 lbs, pulverized soda ash 6% lbs, pulverized borax 9% lbs., fullers earth 3 lbs, pint double strength aqueous ammonia and A; pint essence of sassafras.
