Furthermore, the resiliency oil' the lingers 8-8 prevents rattle of the head when the 'fastener is subjected to vibration..

The button or head 7 extends :troni the plate 5 through an opening' in the :tlep 3 and extends beyond the outer face ot the .tlap so that it may engage the soelet in themanner herein after described.
The button or head 7 is preferably rectangular in outline and is adapted to pass through an aperture 13 in the body of the boliY and through the aperture 2 in the plate l. These aperturea are in alignment and both are rectangular in outline so that the head i may pass therethrough (Figs. 2 and S) and then be turned so that the longl dia1n- V,ter ot the button or head lies across the short diameter oit the aperture 2 in the plate 1, as shown in Fig. il. Vlhile the button or head 7 may be turned when. the sealed Wire is in place, the coin# bined dimensions of the wire and head 7 are more than the longr diameter ot the aperture l?) and therefore the fastei'ler cannot be separated Without breaking' the Seal 16.

Claims:
cured to a carrying medium and a socket also secured to a carrying medium, said stud member comprising a flat plate secured 1 against one side of t-he stud-carrying mediumv and a button or head carried by said plate, said button or head passing through and being located at the opposite side of the Astud-carrying medium and having integral yieldable means secured directly to the plate for turning movementrelative thereto, said socket comprising a plate secured to the socket-carrying medium and an aperture through the plate and l carrying medium through which said button or head may pass to engage the socket and secure the two carrying mediums together and means cooper y ating between the plate of the stud member p tangular aperture therethrough, a but-ton or head partcomprising the other piece of the fastener stud unit, contractible and expansible fingers formed integral with and eX- tending from saidbutton or head part through said rectangular aperture in said plate part and engaged'with said plate part to secure said parts together while permitl. ting turning of one part relative to the other and said contractible and expansible lingers being provided with shoulders engaging one face of said plate to space said head part a substantial distance from said plate part and having their free ends bent against the other face of said plate to cooperate with said shoulders and prevent relative axial movement between said parts.

A turn button installation for cartons and the like comprising` a lsocket member secured to one portion of the carton and prei senting an oblong aperture therethrmigli. a stud member secured to another portion of the carton, an oblong button or head portion presented by said stud member, said button or head passing through both portions of said carton and through the a perture in said socket and adapted to be turned to secure said portions of the carton 1ogether and means for securing said fastener against separation even though said button or head be turned to fastener separating position.

A. turn button stud unit composed of two pieces only, one piece being in the form of a plate 5 having a rectangular aperture 9 and the other piece being in the form ot a button or head part 7 having integral spacing fingers 8 provided with means 11. and l2 at one end which engage opposite faces of the plate 5 and secure the plate 5 and button or head part 7 together and said head part 7 being located at the other end of the fingers thereby being spaced a substantial distance from said plate 5.
