PATENT OFFICE.
MORITZ SCHfiNBERGER, OF VIENNA, AUSTRIA.
DISPLAY STAND OR THE LIKE.
Application filed April 18, 1928, Serial No. 271,009, and in" Austria June 7, 1927.
This invention relates to display stands or the like and has particular reference to a carrier serving for decoration and display purposes which has, the advantage of enabling the various forms of carrying elements for the displa articles to be arranged in many kinds 0 ways. The carrier renders it possible for the decorator to display the articles in visible manner without requiring inconvenient and considerable space-occupying decoration aids.
An embodiment of the invention is illustrated by way of example in the accompany-' ing drawing.
The decoration stand in the example illustrated is formed as a standard and consists of a post Z) provided with a foot plate a and having a number of tubular spacing and holding members d receiving therebetween the carrier elements 0 for the display articles. Preferably the cross-section of the post is round and provided for its entire length with screw threads, upon which the intermediate members (i are screwed. The carrier elements are clamped at the desired distance apart in this instance between every two or more, relatively adjacent ones of the memhere 0!. The members d need not all be provided with internal screw threads; it is'sufficient moreover if only a few thereof or ultimately only the closure forming member is provided with screw threads. Instead of the screw connection any other suitable form of clamping arrangement such as a key pin may be employed. 1
' The carrier elements may assume various shapes. Thus for example lates or discs of glass, metal, etc., hooks, eye ets, carrier arms or other formations of wire may be employed.
Instead of the decoration carrier being embodied as a standard it may be constructed also as a fixed or sus ensible pillar.
Having now particularly described and ascertained the nature of my said invention 4 and in what manner'the same is to be performed,'I declare that what I claim is:
A display stand comprising a base, a single upright upstanding from the base, the upright being threaded substantlally throughout its length, a plurality of tubular spacing and clamping members, of different lengths,'all interiorly threaded and adjustably and removably fitting the upright whereby they may be selectively arranged either singly or in groups and with regard to their individual lengths and the combined lengths of the sections comprising any group, and article supporting members having openings adapting them to be freely fitted upon and adjusted with respect to the. upright and whereby they may be selectively interposed between the'spacing and clamping members and secured in selected positions of elevational adjustment and clamped, individually, in their positions of adjustment by the clamping action of the relatively adjacent clamping members, between which they are disposed, and whereb they may be held rigid with respect to tile upright at desired relative positions of elevation thereon.
In testimony whereof I have afiixed' my signature:
Monrrz soHoNBEReER.
