The sheet A is vbent so as to provide four walls 10, 12, 14 and 16. For the sake of convenience, We will referto the wall 10 as the bottom; the wall 4f will therefore be the top; lthe wall 16 will be the back and 12 the front wall of the housing. l The four walls kform the housing portion of the entire device. The walls are formed by bending the sheet .of material A at right angles whereby a substantially rectangular housing is formed witliwalls of substantially uniform width.

The edges of the material of the walls 10 and 16 adjacent the opening 18 are bent over upon themselves so as to provide reinforcing flanges 2O and 22. End members B are placed within the four walls 10, 12, 14 and 16 and engage the inner surfaces thereof.
The end members B are formed of a flat sheet of material 24 having outturned integral marginal flanges 26. The end members B are rectangular in outline and the flanges 26 thereof are spot welded or otherwise secured to the walls of the housing formed of the sheet of material A.
The end membersB are positioned inwardly from the ends of the housing proper and n the portions 24 form bearing plates in which may be journaled a spring roller assembly C which will be hereinafter more fully set forth.

- In the drawings I have shown the openings as being elongated' and formed in pairs. Fastening means such as bolts or screws 42 may be employed for anchoring the entire housing to any suitable support such as 44. The fastening means 42 may be arranged `f horizontally as shown in Figure 3 of the drawings. The same fastening means may be arranged vertically and in that case' the fasv tening means or screws project through the openings 38 formed in the walls l0' and l2 and the flanges-26 resting thereaga'inst..
It will be noted that when the housing is mounted upon a. support, that all ofV the i ofthe housing proper and maintain the housing in a substantially rectangular cross section at all times. X
vIt will be further noted that the elongated openings 38 allow for adjustment of the position where the screws 42 are mounted. It will be noted. that the housing and holder are at apted to be fastened toj two supports which may vary somewhat in distance and for that lreason the elongatedl openings 38 allow for the lslight variation which may be due to contraction and expansion of the parts or window frameto which the device is adapted to be fastened. When the housing, and' holder Y rest against two walls that is, against a. hori- :zontal surface and a vertical surface,z then screws 42 may be usedy which extend both vertically and horizontally through the same end member-s. In Figure 2 ofthe drawings I have shown thel two horizontal screws 42' in cross section andl in dotted lines, I have shown one screw arranged vertically which can be accomplishedvdue to the elongatedY openings 38 even though the openings are aligned circumferentially.
One of the advantages of my construction resides in the rigidity which is given to the housing by mea-ns of the end members B and their flanges 26. The flanges 26 tend to space the bearing plate 24 inwardly from the end of thev housing proper and within this space or recessed opening formed bythe end members B, IA talle care of the projected ends of the shaft 26 and any of the fastening devices which aroused for preventing rotation ofthe shaft or the like.
The' fastening screws 42 project through they space of the recessed opening and do not interfere with any of that portion of .the housing between the two plates 24. When the' device is' installed in actual use, the ends of the housing which are formed with the openings 38 may be encased or concealed and the" width. of the win-'dow opening will be sub stanti'allly the saine' as the width of the screen mounted in the housing;
Some changes may bemade` in the construction and arrangement ofthe parts of my device without departing from the real spirit and purpose of my invention', and it is my intention to cover by my claims, any modified forms of structure or use of mechanical equivalents, which may bey reasonably included withintheir scope. p

A screen casing including a sheet of material bent to form four side walls of a length substantially greater than the width with the edges of the sheet being spaced a slight distance apart for forming a discharge opening extending lengthwise, saidedges being rebent upon their respective side walls for forming a double thickness at the discharge opening for adding materially to the strength of said side walls adjacent the opening between the ends of the casing, and end mem bers of rectangular outline adapted to be positioned within the four walls and spaced inwardly from the ends thereof for forming a casing rectangular in cross section with said walls arranged in parallel pairs, said end members including out-turned integral marginal flanges adapted to rest against the inner surfaces of said walls and secured thereto, whereby the casing is prevented from torsional movement.
