Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 172,156, dated J annary 11, 1876; application filed December 4,1875.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, JOHN T. ODoNoGHUE, of the city, county, and State of New York` have invented a new and Improved Comb, of which the following is a specification:
My invention consists of a comb having a contrivance for heating it and keeping it WarmV while in use, for restoring the vitality and original color to the hair when turning gray, alleviating neuralgic and nervous headaches, drying the hair after washing, and for other purposes.
Figure 1 is a side elevation of my improved comb, and Fig. 2 is an end elevation.

A is a comb, of metal or any suitable substance, having a hollow or tubular head, B, in which a heating-iron, C, of the handle D is placed for heating the comb and keeping it Warm while using it.
The heating-iron is made of suitable size and form to be used also fora curling-iron, and is thus adapted for both purposes.
A set-screw, E, is employed to bind the heating-iron in tightly when the handle and v comb are attached.
Bythe use of a heated comb the heat draws the sap and oil from the scalp into the hair,
