Original application filed May 16, 1928, Serial No. 278,174. Divided and this application filed November This invention relates to a scalp protector.
The object of the invention is the construction of a simple and efficient protector for the scalp, used by hairdressers in the permanent waving process.
Another object of the invention is the construction of a novel and efficient protector that is placed against the head of a person with a bunch of hair extending therethrough, whereby the curling iron can be placed close to the head without any discomforture to the patron.
This application is a divisional case, growing out of my prior application Ser. No. 278,174, filed May 16, 1928, permanent waving machine and which case will become a patent on IVith the foregoing and other objects in view, my invention comprises certain novel constructions, combinations and arrangements of parts as will be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings, and more particularly pointed out in the appended claims.
In the drawings:
Figure 1 is a perspective view of my device, showing the same placed around approximately one square inch of hair on the patrons head.
Figure 2 is an enlarged perspective view of the device, and the beginning of wrapping of the hair on the iron.
Figure 3 is a folded perspective view of the device.
Referring to the drawings by numerals, 1 designates my scalp protector, which is preferably formed from a blank sheet of material and comprises a body 2 that is provided at one edge with an incut 3 in which the bunch of hair 4 (Fig. 1) is placed; extending from ne end of body 2 is an elongated tongue 5.

What I claim is:
1. A scalp protector, comprising a body provided with a hair-receiving incut and with a projecting wrapping tongue. 7

A scalp protector formed from a blank sheet and comprising an elongated body and tongue, said tongue projecting from one end ofthe body and being reduced in size compared to the body, and said body provided in one edgewit-h an inwardly extending hairreceiving incut, substantially as shown. and described.
3. A scalp protector formed from a single sheet or blank and comprising a body provided with an outwardly extending tongue and with a hair-receiving incut extending into the body at right angles to the line of extension of said tongue.
