This invention relates to certainnovelimprovements in stump extractors and is particularly adapted for v the pulling of tree stumps in clearing land. The, salient: object of my invention is to provide -a stump extractor which will embody maximum flexibility in order that it may be used to pull stumps that are located in diversified positions.
. ,A further object of the invention is to provide a device of the class described which may be readily transported. v 1
A still further object of the invention is to provide a stump extractor which will be simple in constructionand efiicient in operation.
Other objects will appear hereinafter.
, The invention consists in the novel combination and arrangement of parts to be hereinafter described and claimed.

An anchor structure is provided which in the present instance is comprised of cables 20 and 21 and which are secured to the arm 14 adjacent the axle structure 10. lhe cables 20 and 21 are'adapted .to be of any required length and may be secured to the structure in any desired manner, that shown being the preferred form.' In the present instance the cables 20 and 21 are provided withnooses 22 and 23; this arrangement being provided when the cables can be attached to stumps but it is to be understood that any other desired attaching means might be substituted in place of the nooses vand that the cables might be secured to any suitable fixed object other than stumps. j

The force exerted on the arm 26 will be transmitted throughthemember 24 and the cable 27 to the pull bar 18 and thence through either the cable 29 or 30 to the ring 81, it being apparent that as soon as "a slight movement occurs the shorter of the two cables 29 and 30 will become slack. Such movement will exert tremendous force in the cables 32 and which will act to extract the stump.
While I have illustrated and described the preferred form of construction for carrying my inventioninto effect, this is capable of variation and modification, without departing from the spirit of the-invention. I, therefore, do not wish to be limited to the precise details of construction set forth, but desire to avail myselfof such variations and modifications as come within the scope of the appended claims.
Having thus described my invention what I claim as new and desire to protect by Letters Patent is: y Y

A device of the class described including an axle structure having Wheels, a pair of spaced supporting arms extending from said axle structure in one direction, a pull bar mounted for pivotal movement about one end of said supporting arms, means for turning said pull bar carried by said supporting arms "in juxtaposition to said axle structure, means connecting said pull bar and said turning device, anchor ng means for said axle structure and supporting arms, and attaching means carried by said pull bar.
