IDENTIFICATION TAG FOR KEY RINGS.
I Application filed August 21, 1926. Serial No. 180,607.
10 vided with an opening that alines with openings in the card and panel after they are in position to receive the key ring, the construction. admitting of changing the address on the card readily by removal from the frame, and by having the transparent cover the name and address on the card is protected from abrasion by contact with the keys and consequent danger of obliteration.
The invention will be described in detail hereinafter and will be found illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which Figure 1 is a face view oftheidentification tag applied to a key ring, i
Figure 2, a longitudinal sectional View of the tag on a plane indicated by'the line 2-2 of Figure 1, I
Figure 3, a transverse sectional view on a plane indicated by the line 33 of Figure 1,
Figure 4, a face view of the frame, and
Figures 5 and 6 similar views of the identification card and ofthe transparent panel respectively.
In the drawings similar reference characters will be used to designate corresponding parts throughout the several views. a
The identification card includes a frame having a base plate 1 having its side and one end edge provided with flanges 2 having the inturned portions 3. The other end of the 40 plate 1 is formed with converging'sides with a lateral flange t extending from the ends is indicated at nated 6, said identification card and the cover panel being adapted to seat on the plate 1 and under the inturned flanges 3 and within the recess at the end of plate 1 formed by the flange 4, said card 5 and panel 6 being shaped as shown to it within the recess of the frame formed by the plate and its flanges. Plate 1, card 5, andpanel 6 are provided with openings designated 1, 5 and 6, respectively thataline when the parts are assembled as shown in Figure 2 to receive a key ring 7.
In use it will be apparent that by providing the plate 1, the card 5 and the panel 6, with mating openings to receive the key ring, that the ring functions to hold the three parts in their relative positions, and that the structure admits of removing the article from the key ring should it be desired to change the address on the identification card, and thatthis can be effected expeditiously.
lVhat is claimed is An identification tag structure, in combina tion with "a key ring, the structure comprising a plate and identification card on said plate, a flange on opposite sides and one end of said plate rebent to overlap corresponding edges of the card, said card and plate having an end substantially pointedand disposed in engagement, the plate at its pointed end having its edges provided with a lateral flange for abutment by the pointed end of the card, and said plate and card relatively close to the apex of said end being perforated, and said ring being accommodated in the perforations, said lateral flange permitting installation and withdrawal of the card relatively to said rebent flanges.
In testimony The identification card 5 and a cover panel 1s desig-e
