FIXING DEVICE FOR CRAVATS AND TIES Filed Sept. 20, 1928 v Quay/b1 Patented May 7, 1929.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
RICHARD BINNEMANN, 0F FRELL'STEDT, GERMANY.
FIXING DEVICE FOR CRAYATS AND TIES.
Application filed Septeinber 20, 1928, Serial in. 307,283, and in Germany Jilly s, 1928.
The present invention relates to an improved lixing device for cravat-s and ties, absolutely different in its construction i'rom all fixing devices heretofore known andused, and consisting in the features and combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter described and particularly pointed out in the claim.
In the accompanying drawing,
Fig. 1 is a front elevation of the device embodying my invention, and
Fig. 2 is a side elevation thereof.
The fixing device made in one piece of flexible and springy material, the said material used being preferably metallic wire, comprises first of all two medial wires a, Z) run: ning in parallel direction and the one of which, being with its hook-like extremity 0 in connection with the eyelet e forming part of the portion (Z adapted to receive the collar button. Both wires a and Z) are united together so as to constitute one plaited portion forming at the top of the device a flat clamp g, whereas at the lower extremity of the device, the wire Z) is formed to a clamp h, having an additional passing 7L and situated at an oblique angle with respect to the perpendicular plane, the described clamp 71, being supported by the spring knot or eye i formed by both wires (4 and b.
In operation :After introducing the collar button into the portion ,(Z of the device and the cravat or tie laid round the collar, one end of the said cravat is passed through between the two medial Wires a, b and finally from the rear passed over the top clamp g.
The saidend is then guided over the front surface of the'device downward and passed through the clamp it the springy arms of which exerting a slight pressureupon the cravat end without, however, preventing the tie from'being conveniently arranged. The cravat is now absolutely well fixed in its position and does not become slack.
The arms of the clamp k may, if desired, be made of precious metal and decorated with jewels and the like the latter being for this purpose atlixed within the eye or passage 72, and thus prevented from loss. a
The invention having been set forth, what is claimed as new and useful, is
A fixing device for cravats and the like,
comprising a flexible metallic wire forming two medial portions running in parallel directlon, a clamp arranged aside,,a hook at the extremity of said clamp and engaging the hooked end of one of the two parallel wires, a plaited portion in continuation of the other wire, a flat clamp forming the top of the device, and a double bent clamp formed near the foot of the device, a springy knot or eye in connection with the last mentioned clamp, the latter being arranged at an oblique angle with respect to the plane of the device.
In testimony whereof I nature.
perpendicular have ailixed my sig- RICHARD BINNEMANN.
