Be it known that I, WILHELM HILS, a citizen of Germany, residing at Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented new ancl useful Improvements in a Tie Form'or Holder, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to newand useful improvements in a tie form or holder, and has for its object to provide a device of this character on which an ordinary four in hand tie may be placed or tied to overcome the necessity of retying the same each time it is to be used.

Another object of my invention is to provide a tie form or holder including a downwardly and outwardly projecting tongue on which the knot of the tie is formed.

A further object of the invention is to provide a device of this character formed from a single piece of wire so bent as to produce a collar button clasp, oppositely projecting wings, loops at, the ends of the wings and intermediate said wings and an inclined tongue the latter being produced by th terminals of the wire strand and fastened in any suitable manner as by a ball for instance.

IVith these ends in view, this invention consists in the details of construction and combination of elements hereinafter set forth and then specifically designated by the claims.

In order that those skilled in the art to which this invention'appertains, may understand how to make and use the same, I will describe its construction in detail, referring by numerals to the accompanying drawing forming a part of this application, in which i Fig. 1, is an end view of a tie form or holder made in accordance with my invention.

Fig. 3, is a plan or upper edge view thereof.

Fig. 4 is a front elevation showing a portion of the tie mounted thereon to illustrate the first step in tying the tie on the form.

5, is a similar view of the next step in the tying operation.

In carrying out my invention as here embodied, I take a piece of wire and so bend it as to form one of the parallel tongue strands;

2 from which projects the upper strand?) of one of the .wings, said strand lying substantially at right angles to the strand 2. From this is produced the loop 4: from which rinses projects the lower wing strand 5 having a downwardly projecting portion6 and a vertical corrugated portion 7 with which is formed the loop 8. With the loop 8 is also formed the other vertical, corrugated portion 9 with which is connected the portion 10 l V v projecting downwardly from the lower strand 11 of the other wing, the latter being joined withthe loop 12 with which is "also formed the other wing strand 13 carrying the tongue strand 14:. The two ends of the wire which terminate inthe tongue strands are fastened or held together by a suitable securing means,such as a ball 15, the latter covering the extremities of the wire.

This arrangement or formation provides the oppositely projecting wings 16 and 17 with a vertical elongated loop at the outer end of each and a horizontal elongated loop intermediate the ends of said wings as well as a resilient collar button clasp 18 and also an inclined or outwardly and downwardly projecting tongue 19. I

To tie a neck tie on the form or holder said neck tie 20 is threaded through the vertical elongated loops 4 and 12 at the outer ends of the wings so that aportion of said tie is disposed across the front of the holder between the two loops 4 and 12. Next one of the ends as 21 is carried forward from its loop and placed over the tongue 19, then the other end 22 of the tie is brought forward from its loop and wound about the tongue as well as the other end of the neck by which it is passed upward between that portion of the neck tie disposed between the two loops 1 and 12 and the collar button clasp after which it is threaded through the loop 8, as indicated at 23, and then carried over the portion disposed between the loops 4 and 12 and threaded through the part 24 forming the knotas shown in Fig. 6.

In practice after the neck tie has been tied upon the form or holderit is only necessary to place the wings of the latter between the folds of a collar and draw the button clasp over the collar button thereby retaining the holder. with the tie thereon in place.

Of course I do not wish to be limited to the exact details of construction as herein shown as these may be varied within the limits of the appended claims without departing from the spirit of my invention.

Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new and useful is 1. A tie holder comprising oppositely projecting wings, a vertical elongated loop at the outer end of each wing, a horizontal elongated loop disposed intermediate the first named loops, and an inclined tongue projecting from the meeting point of said wings at a point above the horizontal elongated loop.

7 2, As an article of manufacture, a tie form produced from a single piece of wire so bent as to form a pair of oppositely disposed wings, a loop at the outer end of each wing, another loop located at the meeting point or" said wings, a button clasp located beneath the last named loop adjacent thereto, and a tongue projecting downwardly and outwardly from the meeting point of the wings at a point above the last named loop.

In a device of the character stated, a piec of wire so bent as to produce two parallel tongue strands, oppositely projecting upper wing strands, a loop at the outer end of each of said last named strands, oppositely projecting lower wing strands, down wardly projecting portions adjacent each other, corrugated vertical portions coacting to form a resilient button clasp, a central loop above the button clasp and located mid way between the two first named loops, and means for securing the ends of the tongue strands together.
