IMPROVEMENT IN SAD-IRONS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 1 70,763, dated December 7, 1875; application filed August 14, 1875.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ALBERT N. PAROELLE, ofOneonta, in the county of Otsego and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Sad-lron, of which the following is a specification:
The invention will first be described in connection with the drawing, and then pointed out in the claim.
Figure 1 is a side elevation, and Fig. 2 is a horizontal section taken on line 00 0c of Fig. 1.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
A is the back of the sad-iron, in which I make eyes B, in any suitable way, for the connection of the handle 0, detachably, by hooked standards D E. In this case I have provided two rigid heel-standards, D, and one jointed toe-standard, E, with a bindingcam, F, to the latter to fasten the hook in the eye. G is the spring-guard for the protection of the hand from the heat, which I fasten at the rear end to the standards D in any way, and connect to the front standard below the pivot-joint, adjusting it so that it is contracted, when the standard is fastened by the can], sufficiently to cause the hook of the standard to be thrown ALBERT L.
