IMPROVEMENT IN HoRsE-vQKEs.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent N o. 170,514, dated November 30, 1875; application filed April 29, 1875.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, J A0013 BOYER, of Rural Valley, in the county of Armstrong and State of Pennsylvania, have invented an Improvement in Horse-Yokes, ot' which the following is a specification: l
My invention consists in a novel construction and arrangement of barbs to be attached toa common horse-yoke, the details of which will be fully understood by the following description.
vIn the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a LOD View" of my A improved attachment to horse-yokes. Fig. 2 is a cross-section of the same.
In order to attach my arrangement ot' barbs to the common horse-yoke, I employ a clasp, C, with a locking-wire, Gfand key H. vThe barbs D are made star-shaped, as seen in Fig. 2, and inserted into a guard, I, which has two slots, into one of which the rod is inserted, holding in placethe star-shapedbarbs D, and
in the other slot is wire spring L, Which'gently presses the guard I forward so as to keep the points of the barbsD concealed and prevent v them from pricking the horse, except when he attempts to push against the fence, in which case thebarbs immediately prick his breast.
